THOMPSON, Manitoba -- Hiking through the fen was a pretty treacherous endeavor. I hit a hole and water flooded in the top of my chest waders, while the mud sucked my feet even deeper. I was rather anxious (to put it mildly) before I caught my footing and got out of the hole.
