UJUNG PANDANG, Indonesia -- A spectacular sunset greeted me from the waterfront of Ujung Pandang, the ancient port of Makassar, on my first night in Sulawesi. After I took these pictures, I called some friends in Nyack, New York. The sun was just coming up for them.
